Privacy Policy

Friends of Asheville Muni is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3). This page explains what we collect when you join, donate, or subscribe, why we collect it, and what we do not do with it.

What we collect

When you join, donate, or subscribe, we collect what you give us: your name, your email address, your mailing address when we need to send you something, and the details of your gift. Payment card numbers go straight to our payment processor and never touch our website or our records.

Why we collect it

To process memberships and donations, to mail your bag tag, to send you a receipt letter for your taxes, and to send our monthly newsletter if you asked for it. That is the whole list.

How payments are handled

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are handled entirely by Stripe under their security standards, and Friends of Asheville Muni never sees or stores them. Stripe's own privacy policy governs that part of the transaction.

Email and the newsletter

We use Constant Contact to send our monthly newsletter. If you subscribe, your name and email address are stored there. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and you can also just email us and we will take you off the list.

What we do not do

Friends of Asheville Muni does not sell or trade donor information. We do not share your details with other organizations for their own use, and we do not publish donor names or amounts without asking you first.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies to keep the site working and to understand in general terms how it is used — which pages get read, roughly where visitors come from. None of that is tied to your name, and you can block cookies in your browser without breaking the site.

How to reach us

If you want to know what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, email avlmunifriends@gmail.com and we will take care of it. We are volunteers, so give us a few days.
